Spooner Row Primary School has been in existence since 1875. It was built by the Wymondham Town Board for Schools and was initially for approximately 100 children from ages 5 - 14. We have just celebrated our 140th birthday! How things change! Over the last few years the school buildings have been comprehensively improved. Most recent building work has included the extension and refurbishment of Fox Class as well as introducing a superb outdoor exploratory area. The school also has a computer network encompassing wireless broadband network connection throughout the whole site, Interactive Whiteboards with data projectors, a bank of six computers in every classroom as well as a bank of iPads. We really have the best of both worlds – a beautiful old building on the outside with a bright and modern interior! We have a vegetable and sensory garden where children explore how fruit and vegetables grow and a wildlife area where children can investigate nature. We are able to make good use of the village playing field for outdoor sport and lunch time play - taking full advantage of the Play Park which is attached to the school, as well as regularly using the Village Hall for drama, school productions, social functions and end of year assemblies.
