Into KS2 - 'Big Read'
As the children become more fluent with their reading, we introduce them to our original and unique approach towards reading comprehension, 'Big Read'. Thus approach allows children to apply key skills of analysis to a range of different stimuli, developing 'schema' to then apply to texts across a wide variety of topics.
This approach also allows a deepening of understanding across wider curriculum areas, further enhancing the 'Kapow' curriculum offering. Please see below for an example of how a weekly plan builds and develops these skills.
