Friday 21 July 2023 Oak Class Blog - 21st July 2023 I can't believe we have reached the end of the school year! It has been a year filled with fun, learning, adventures and hard work by all the children in Oak Class. Every single member of the class, should be very proud of all they have achieved and the great role models they are for the younger years. When I asked the class, they said their highlights have been the residential to Thorpe Woodlands, Science Week, Art Weeks, Sports Day Computing Week and the end of year production 'Shakespeare Rocks'. They have also really enjoyed being together as Oak Class this year and I know the Year 5 children will miss the Year 6 children as they move onto their next adventures at secondary school.

We have acted out the first moon landing and know that Neil Armstrong was the first man to step on the moon and Buzz Aldrin was the second. We know that they were on the moon for two hours and brought back moon rocks to study. They left a flag. We also found out their footprints are still there because there is no wind on the moon.

Friday 16 June 2023 Oak Class Blog - 16th June 2023 This week has been Computing Week in Oak Class. The learning has been around the theme 'Creating Media- Vector Drawings'. The children have been using the google draw program and have learnt what vector drawings are, how to create shapes and objects and duplicate, move and resize objects. They have also been using the draw tools to make an exact copy of different animal pictures and the zoom in and out tool to draw things in detail. This learning has taken great patience and care from the children and it has been great to see the children using these attributes in their computing work this week. As you can see from the photos below, the children really enjoyed their computing week and created some wonderful work.
