Daily Mile for Captain Tom
To celebrate the one hundredth birthday of inspirational fundraiser Captain Sir Tom Moore, thousands of people across the country were encouraged to mark the day by undertaking "100" themed charity events.
At Spooner Row we decided to complete 100 laps of our playground and school field.
Every child from Fox, Badger and Oak Class completed our "extended" daily mile circuits.
During the pandemic in 2020, Captain Sir Tom Moore inspired the nation and raised a huge amount for charity by completing 100 laps of his care home. Sadly Captain Tom passed away earlier this year. The Captain Tom 100 event marked what would have been his one hundredth birthday.
