Friday 7 July 2023 Fox Class 3rd -7th July 2023 Here is a quick look at some of the things Fox Class have been doing over the last couple of weeks.
Friday 16 June 2023 Fox Class 12th-16th June 2023 This week Fox Class had a wonderful day at Strumpshaw Fen. The children enjoyed pond dipping, bird watching, a scavenger hunt and looking at moths that had been caught in the moth trap. We hadn't realised how many patterns of moth there are! The children behaved brilliantly and were a credit to their families and the school. Well done Foxes.
Friday 19 May 2023 Fox Class week ending 19th May 2023 Fox class have been enjoying lots of learning and new experiences over the last couple of weeks.
Friday 28 April 2023 Fox Class 24th-28th April 2023 Fox class has worked hard this week on telling the time in Maths and really enjoyed making given a given time on the clocks.

Friday 10 March 2023 Fox Class week ending 10th March 2023 Fox class have enjoyed investigating bridges this week. We have explored ways of making a beam bridge stronger in order to support a greater live load.

Friday 27 January 2023 Fox Class 23rd- 27th January 2023 Fox Class have worked hard this week writing their own set of instructions independently.
Friday 9 December 2022 Fox Class 5th-9th December 2022 This we have been making equal groups and arrays in Maths. We have been on a treasure hunt and have used this experience to inform our postcard writing.

Friday 25 November 2022 Fox Class 21st - 25th November 2022 In maths we have been working on place value, numbers to 50 (year 1) making equal groups (year 2) and counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. (everyone) We have explored the story Meerkat Christmas, we thought about sending postcards and who, when and why we might send them. We have reflected on the life of the late Queen and drew some amazing pictures of her!
Friday 11 November 2022 Fox Class week beginning 4th November 2022 We have continued our literacy work based on the book 'On Safari' this week, we have been focusing on the best bits and unforgettable moments.
Friday 21 October 2022 Fox Class 17th-21st October 2022 The children in Fox Class have been using their knowledge of the "Marvelous Squishy Itty Bitty" story to write independently what might happen next. They have had some great ideas.
Friday 14 October 2022 Fox Class 10th -14th October 2022 Fox class have continued to work hard this week writing about the Marvelous, Squishy, Itty, Bitty. We have been learning about number fact families, focusing on bonds to 10 and 20.
Friday 7 October 2022 Fox Class 3rd - 7th October 22 This week Fox Class has been using the story "The Marvellous Fluffy Squishy Itty Bitty" as the basic of their English work. The story is about a girl hunting for a special present for her mum in a variety of shops. As a part of our learning, we have made gifts and gift boxes, sampled items from the bakery and even brought the charity shop into the classroom. Some children enjoyed trying on the clothes!!
Friday 30 September 2022 Fox Class W/C 26th September 2022 This Fox Class have been writing their own stories in our English lessons. We have using crocodiles to help us understand less than and greater than. (< > ) We have enjoyed PE outside and learnt about different ways to move. We have had fun in music finding the beat but we particularly like freestyle dancing and singing.
Friday 23 September 2022 Fox Class 20th - 23rd September 2022 This week we have enjoyed lots of practical activities in Maths. We have played games to find 1 more and 1 less. We have represented numbers using the Numicon and Diennes blocks and matched numerals to pictures.
Friday 16 September 2022 Fox Class September 12th-16th September We have had a very busy weeks this week. We have been reading and writing about the story "The Storm Whale." We have been counting forwards and backwards in Maths and have started to investigate Henri Rousseau's jungle paintings. We even drew our own not very realistic animals. We have enjoyed dance in PE and explored the field looking at local habitats.
Friday 15 July 2022 Fox Class 11th-15th July 2022 We have had much more of a normal week this week and had our usual lessons.
Friday 24 June 2022 Fox Class 20th-24th June 2022 Fox Class have worked hard this week in Literacy to write 'Sound Collector' poems. We have been revising addition and subtraction in Maths and started looking at Scratch Junior in computing. We enjoyed practising our racket skills in PE. In art we made collage faces, with some interesting results!
Friday 17 June 2022 Fox class 13th-17th June 2022 This week we have been comparing capacity and volume in our Maths. We have been looking at sea poems and thinking about alliteration and rhyming words.
Friday 27 May 2022 Fox Class 23rd May 2022 Once again we have had a busy week. We have worked hard the sew our puppets and add the details from our designs in order to be able to take them home and share with our family. We have had fun investigating capacity and volume and enjoyed our last session of cricket.
Friday 13 May 2022 Fox Class News 9th - 13th May 2022 This week we have been following instructions to make friendship bracelets, paper plate fish, a fishing game and writing instruction onHow to make a kite.
Friday 6 May 2022 Class class3rd- 6th May 2022 This week our focus in English has been instructions. We have been listening and carrying out instructions, reading and following them and have used diagrams to help us write some. In Science we have been looking at and gathering data about wild flowers. We discovered the field had far too many to count! After designing a puppet last week we made paper prototypes on Wednesday. This gave us the opportunity to evaluate, change and improve our designs. Once again we have enjoyed cricket, today we worked on our batting and fielding skills. And finally we have celebrated the achievements of another three super learners this week, Willow, Peaches and Ella. Well done girls.
Friday 29 April 2022 Fox Class 25th April 2022 This week Fox Class have been planting beans as a part of our science investigations. We have been learning to use different keys on the laptops and carried out lots of work on telling the time. In cricket we were developing our throwing and catching skills, as well as working together as a team in throwing and catching relay races. I am very proud to say everyone has tried their best, even when things got a bit tricky.
Friday 22 April 2022 Summer term Cricket We have had lots of fun and started to learn some new skills today.
Friday 18 March 2022 Fox Class Science week This week we have had lots of fun carrying out a range of experiments. We have investigated how quickly liquids travel, how to build a raft, optical illusions and enlarged our fingerprints to look at the patterns of loops, whorls and ridges. We have also been scientists in our own role-play Lab!
Friday 17 December 2021 Fox Class Autumn Week 14 2021 I can't believe I am writing my last Blog at Spooner Row! I have had an amazing 12 and a bit years at this school and it has been far more than 'just a job' for me. My two children have beenvery much part of school life since they were babies and I have made so many wonderful friends along the way. I will really miss all the staff, children and parents but I am glad that Freya will still be here, so it is not a full 'goodbye'! Spooner Row will always have a very special place in my heart. Thank you so much for all the amazing messages, cards, emails and gifts that I have received over the last few weeks. It means a lot.
