Handa's Surprise

We have been looking at the book Handa’s Surprise this week. We tasted lots of delicious fruit (pineapple, mango, kiwi, banana, tangerines, avocado), set up a fruit shop, found Africa on a map, looked at African animals and went on a safari round the outdoor area. We have drawn and labelled items we’d take to a hot country, made observational drawings of fruit and learned that not all African’s live in villages! We have also had a go at carrying fruit on our heads like Hands - it is very difficult!
