Let's Talk Birds

On Wednesday morning, Allan from Talk Wildlife came in and talked to us about birds. He brought in feathers, nests and replica eggs. We got to handle a tiny hummingbird egg and a huge ostrich egg. He even brought in the egg of an extinct elephant bird and it was bigger than our heads!! We learnt that having feathers is what makes birds different to other animals. Mrs Newbery has signed up to the Big Schools’ Birdwatch and we will be making bird feeders next week before heading out to look for birds the following week.
