Mars Day - Tuesday 7th March 2023
As part of their Earth and Space learning, Oak Class took part in National Mars Day on Tuesday. The day started with a live talk about travelling to space by scientists and astronauts, where the class learnt about what is needed for a successful space mission. They also enjoyed seeing a dog explore Mars!
Later in the day, the class took part in a Mars Base Camp challenge, where they had to create a base camp for scientists/astronauts on Mars. This had to fulfill specific criteria including creating a science lap, a place to live and a way to communicate with headquarters back on earth.
All of Oak Class worked brilliantly in their teams, being imaginative and creative in their ideas. As you can see from the photos below, they produced some wonderful base camp models. Well done Oak Class!
