Oak Class Blog - 13th January 2023

Art Week

This week has been Art Week in Oak Class, where the children have been exploring the work of the expressionist movement. They started with creating their own version of an expressionist portrait, using pictures of their own 'shocked' expressions as a starting point.

Moving on, the children looked at the paper tearing/collage work of Henri Matisse and the class created their own.

After looking at the landscape expressionism work of Alexej Jawlensky, the children drew the same landscape three times but used different medium to create colour, tone and pattern in their pictures. As you can see from the photos below, the children did an amazing job during their expressionism learning. There are certainly some talented artists amongst the children of Oak Class.

 Have a lovely weekend!
