Oak Class Blog - 17th December 2021

I can't believe we have reached the end of the first term already. Oak Class have all worked brilliantly this term, showing enthusiasm, engagement and resilience in all activities. They should all be very proud of themselves.

Art and DT

This week, Oak Class have carried out an art unit all about sketching exploration. They have looked at the different types of lines used in the work of artists such as Pablo Picasso and Vincent van Gogh. The children produced some wonderful pieces of art, showing off their excellent art skills, as you can see from the photographs below.

Oak Class also used their sewing skills to create a mini Christmas stocking, which they shall be taking home from school with them today, to fill with presents (mini presents!).

Topic

Our exit point for our Ancient Greece topic, took place on Wednesday with our house team Ancient Greek Olympics. The children took part in a variety of events based on those from the Ancient Greek Olympics, such as javelin, sprint racing, relays, discus and long jump. The children all took part with enthusiasm and energy, earning points for their house. A particular well done to Blue House, who were the overall winning house team.

End of Term Rewards

Today, Oak Class carried out an end of term awards ceremony, with each child awarding another class member with a certificate. They thought about what the certificate should be for, wrote it out and awarded it to their classmate. The children were really happy to receive a certificate from one of their peers. Our whole term superstars awards went to Airlie and Zac but I would like to congratulate the whole class on an amazing term of learning and attitude to school life. Well done Oak Class!

Wishing you all a  very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
