Oak Class Blog - 17th June 2022
This week, Oak Class have been going full steam ahead with our end of year production. It has been great to see how many of the class have already learnt their lines and are getting into the performance aspects of the script.
English
Oak Class have been looking at the form and features of a balanced argument, over the last couple of weeks. This week they wrote some brilliant balanced arguments over whether the train robbers from the animated film 'Rukus' should go to prison or not. All the children were engaged and focused and produced a great finished piece of writing.
Maths
This week, Oak Class have continued to explore angles. They have been looking at how to find and work out missing angles in a variety of shapes and lines. To help them identify different types of angles, the children enjoyed creating their own 90 degree angle-checker.

On Wednesday, a group of Year 6 children took part in a cricket tournament in Great Melton. The children showed amazing team-work and cricket skills and were really encouraging and supportive of each other. They came third overall and should all be very proud of how well they represented Spooner Row Primary.
Oak Class have also been helping Squirrel class with their reading. Some of the children volunteered to give up their break time to support the younger children with their reading and phonics. As you can see from the photographs below. the children from Squirrel Class are delighted to have the older children hearing them read.
Have a lovely weekend,
Fiona
