Oak Class Blog - 19th May 2023

This week, Oak Class explored balanced arguments in English, carried out number challenges in Maths and experienced their first Capoeira session. 

Maths

This week in Oak Class, we focused on problem solving/reasoning checkpoint challenges involving shape (using Post-it notes) and coordinates. The children also took part in a live numeracy lesson, where they had to use their knowledge of number to work through the challenging problems. 

English 

Oak Class have moved onto their next genre of writing, which is balanced arguments. They have explored the form and features of balanced arguments and especially enjoyed our debate game, where they had to pick a yes/no card and then a scenario and debate that point of view. We have discovered some great debaters in Oak Class! 

PE

On Thursday, Oak Class got to experience their first Capoeira session, which they absolutely loved.  All the children took part with enthusiasm and enjoyment and I know the instructors were very impressed with the abilities the children showed after only one session.
