Oak Class Blog - 19th November 2021
This week, the student leadership team have started to carry out different roles around school. The House Captains helped organise and collect votes for our new school values and the whole of the student leadership team/Oak Class worked in house teams to organise activities for an afternoon of fun during Pudsey Day.
English
In English this week, Oak Class have continued to explore Greek Myths, in particular focusing on mythical creatures and heroes/heroines. The children created some interesting creatures and produced great descriptions of their hero/heroine. Next week, they will start to write their own Greek Myth using these characters.
Maths
Oak Class have continued to explore number and different types of number this week. Square numbers, cubed numbers and prime numbers were a particular focus, as well as looking at what happens to numbers when multiplied or divided by multiples of 10. Oak Class should be proud of how they are embracing their new Maths learning and I know Miss Best was very impressed with their skills when she came to see us in Maths this week.
Pudsey Day
You have probably heard from your child all about the Pudsey Day activities. This week, the student leadership team/Oak Class worked brilliantly together in house teams to come up with fun activities that the younger classes could take part in during a Pudsey Activity Afternoon. As you can see from the pictures below, the children were amazing at putting together and running these activities and the younger classes really enjoyed the afternoon. A huge well done to Oak Class!
Have a lovely weekend!
