Oak Class Blog - 24th February 2023
This week, Oak Class have started exploring the poem The Highwayman in English, continued with their learning about decimals in Maths and learnt about night and day in Science.
Spelling Bee
On Tuesday, Spooner Row started a whole school Spelling Bee. All the children were very excited about this and were great at supporting their classmates who volunteered to be the first contestants. At the moment, Oak Class lead by 1 point and I know that next week's volunteers are hard at work learning their spellings, ready for the next round on Tuesday.
PE
Oak Class came to end of their unit on tennis this week, with a chance to play mini games of tennis. These showed how much the children have improved their tennis skills, including sending less tennis balls over the fence! The class have worked really hard during the whole unit and should be proud of the improvements they have made.
While Year 5 continued to make great strides in their swimming skills, Year 6 came to the end of their dance unit, with a final self-created paired dance. They were all so impressive, showing great creativity, mirroring and cannoning skills. They all performed with new confidence and skill to produce some wonderful final dances.
