Oak Class Blog - 27th January 2023

This week, Oak Class have continued with fraction work in Maths, exploring the book 'Zoo' in English and getting to grips with the phases of the moon in Science. 

English

Continuing with their learning linked to 'Zoo' by Anthony Browne, this week Oak Class acted out scenes between the parents and the children and looked at how to add dialogue, action and description to the original story. 

Maths

This week, the class explored mixed number and improper fractions, multiplying and dividing fractions and also explored types of number in a check in challenge. 

Science

Science was definitely the highlight for Oak Class this week. The children looked at the phases of the moon and used Oreo cookies to create these. They did an amazing job, as you can see from the photographs below, though I think they enjoyed eating an Oreo cookie at the end the most.
