Oak Class Blog - 28th April 2023
Welcome back to Term 3 in Oak Class. All the children have returned full of enthusiasm for this term's learning and are working really hard. The Year 6 children are preparing for their up coming SATs, while Year 5 will be having some end of year assessments at the same time.
English
Oak Class have been using the animated video 'One Small Step' as the theme for their vocabulary and writing learning. Last week, they wrote a letter as the main character about their imaginary journey to the moon. They have also produced wonderful newspaper reports on The Space Race. The class are all very proud of the writing they have produced and so they should be.
Maths
This term, Oak Class have been exploring the areas of geometry and measurement in Maths. This week, they enjoyed using multi-link cubes to gain a greater understanding of volume.
Spelling Bee
Last term, Oak Class were the proud winners of 'The Spooner Row Spelling Bee Competition' and they have really enjoyed using the prizes they received. They have been challenging each other with games of Scrabble and Banagrams, as you can see from the photographs below.
Daily Mile
As it is now the summer term, we are able to carry out our Daily Mile on the field and it has already been great to see the children improving each time they run it.
Have a lovely weekend!
