Oak Class Blog - 8th July 2022

It has been a busy couple of weeks for Oak Class, with the main focus being our end of year production. In between rehearsals, the class have been enjoying a variety of sporting and STEM activities.

English

The children have been studying the poem 'Future Visions – by Benjamin Zephaniah'. They enjoyed learning and reciting verses from the poem and in future learning, they will be writing their own new verses for this poem.

Moving Up Morning/STEM

This week, the children enjoyed a moving up morning, where the Year 5 children were joined in Oak Class by the current Year 4. The children were mixed together into small groups to carry out a variety of STEM task, which they really enjoyed. I was very impressed by the great teamwork all the groups showed.

When the Year 6 returned, we continued with the STEM focus, with the children creating a foil boat to carry unifix cubes and a string/balloon race.

Girls Rugby Festival

On Thursday, the girls from Oak Class went to Wymondham Rugby Club to take part in a festival of rugby. The children were coached at rugby through a series of activities and then got to play some Tag Rugby games. All the children really enjoyed the festival and showed some great rugby skills. If your child is interested in playing rugby outside of school, you can find more information at: https://www.wymondhamrfc.com/girls-rugby
