Spring Term - week 7

This week, we received wonderful news from Boris Johnson that we will be returning to school in just two weeks! This has been the light at the end of the tunnel that we have all been waiting for and the countdown has begun to when we can all be together again.

Congratulations to Tilly, who won our Extreme Reading challenge over half term and Santi who was the runner up! I would like to thank the rest of the class who entered - they were wonderful pictures.

In topic this week, we have started our work comparing a UK city with a city from country of choice in Europe. The class have been telling each other about these cities and famous landmarks in each city.  I look forward to displaying some of this work when we get back into the classroom.

Continuing out work in science about space, Oak class have been finding objects around the house which represent the relative size of the planets in comparison to the sun.  I think you will agree, there is a huge variety of objects used in these photos!

In maths, most of year 5 have been looking at decimals and learning how to compare these and convert them to fractions and year 6 have been exploring missing angles in 2D shapes.

We have learnt about some grammar such as apostrophes, plurals and pronouns in literacy and also continued with our class book - Cosmic.  I am looking forward to being able to finish this book in class altogether.

As always, Oak Class have been working very hard and also very independently - keep it up guys!
