Welcome Badger Class 2022-23
It has been a delight to see the children settle into Year 3 and 4 and come together as a wonderful new class for this year. The first two weeks have been full of lots of fun and excitement and it has been great to see the children developing new friendships and getting to know each other.
In maths, the children have been exploring place value and working with different tools to help develop their understanding of number. We have also been playing some arithmetic games to help with their number confidence. We have also been counting in 1000s, 100s, 50s and 25s so any further support with this at home would be hugely valuable.
In English, the children have been inspired by the work of Oliver Jeffers and 'The Incredible Book Eating Boy' which is a very humorous and beautifully illustrated book. The children have been using alliteration and inverted commas to write their own sentences and retell the story. We have also started reading our class novel for the term - Varjak Paw by SF Said.
Throughout the rest of the week we have been playing handball in P.E., exploring light and dark in Science and having lots of fun learning about Egyptians in History. Here are just a few photos to share our learning this week.
Finally congratulations to our celebration certificate award winners for this week:
Adventurous Learning - Austin
Bright-minded Learning - Drew
Caring Learning - Pepe
What a super start to the term you have had!
Well done to everyone in Badger Class for being brilliant and we'll see you next week for lots more learning fun.
